
A very versatile musician, Marina Peterson plays in settings ranging from hip-hop to experimental music. She plays in the band ÅgFlora FinaÅh and is a member of Gene ColemanÅfs new music groups ÅgEnsemble NoamnesiaÅh and ÅgEnsemble N_JPÅh. She has worked with many well-known composers, including Yuji Takahashi, Luc Ferrari and Chao-Ming Tung, among others. She is also very active in the area of improvised music and has played with Mike Cooper, Fabrizio Spera, Charlotte Hug, Domenico Sciajno, Sharif and Christine Sehnaoui, and others. She has a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Chicago and a performerÅfs Certificate in Cello from Northern Illinois University. Currently, she teaches at The University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago and is program director for Soundfield, NFP.
